ok, time for an update, it's been a while..

a little frame action before xmas.

first, a set of motor mounts, involving some lathe work and brazing. these will be brazed/welded into the down tube to fix the motor mounting plate to the frame.

second, a rear lower triangle bridge to replace the old one after i widened the lower triangle. this involved a lot of filing and shaping. i could have made a simple straight one, but why take the easy way out? that's not the whole story though, often the material has something to say. it wants to be a certain way and who am i to argue?

a little more frame work tonight. made a top tube extension - basically a short length of tube welded to the end of the top tube with a slug. drilled three holes through both the top tube and the extension and rosette welded, then the seam was also welded. then a lot of filing and sanding..

ok, a little game of spot the difference. the difference between this latest iteration and the last (v2.3). just can't stop messing with the drawing. always something to update.

and just for fun an image with a representation of a 1.93m tall human (me, of course). makes the bike look really small..

at last! super nice watercut motor plates and dropouts arrived today. 5mm, with details which will be brazed on, in 1mm thickness. and an unexpected bonus - these were made using Domex hot rolled, extra high strength cold forming steel - normally used for heavy plant machinery, cranes, truck chassis.. they happened to get thrown in with a bigger job, a stroke of good fortune.

very nice feeling to prepare a drawing, send it away and end up with a finished part. outsourcing is where it's at. next is the easy part - to fit them to the frame..
